The disturbing point about that costume is that a real lion skin was used.
But well, it existed.
The head got distroyed in fire, and the body stolen.

Below are infos from the person who built and performed the suit:

It was made from a real Lion Skin. NFT fur didn't exist then. Unfortunatly, these are all the pictures I have of it. Others have vanished over time. It was meant for in studio use. Was used in one movie. 'The Gain that couldn't Shoot Straight.' But it apparently didn't make it past the cutting room floor. The Body form was inadvertly thrown away. The Head was destroyed in a costume shop fire in Hollywood. Some one stold the body skin. If I ever make another, it will use NFT fur ande be more anthro. It was just too hard to move/walk around in.

The Lion died from injuries from a Cat fight I was told. I had to do a lota patching up all over the hide from scratches. and bite marks. The head was useless as too much injury was done. The mane fur used on the head sorce is unknown. The facal fur was from a yearling cub that died of an illness. It did bother me a bit to do this. Never again.

Took about 2 years off and on to do. It was sent to NYC for the filming. I don't know who was wearing it for the filming if they used it as all.

The suit could not be used on all four. Only the front half looked realistic when another head which was more realistic was used. No Pictures exist of this. Some one had to hold up the rear legs and 'walk' the wearer forward. In fact, it was so difficult to walk around in that only the head was used with another more anthro like suit to go anywhere. It was more tight fitting and used some padding on legs, chest and arms. It didn't look baggy at all like some of the costumes I see on the net. But no Pictures of this one exist. It was worn to several costume balls during Halloween around the Los Angeles CA area. This would be late 60's early 70's. I do recall that one ball was show afterwards on TV. There was a few seconds view of the costume. So some one out there probably has Pictures of this fursuit locked away in an archive somewhere.
